By life.
In all her beauty. And her mess.
Somehow we imagine she wasn’t invited to this feast. Or at least got the memo to dress her best and behave.
And life.
I have often told my kids the best thing to do with family is love them. I need to remind myself of this constantly, but especially around the holidays.
The holidays are an interesting mix of anticipation and disappointment.
Joy and sorrow.
Laughter and stress.
This beautiful tender ache.
I will give thanks.
Thirty Days of Thanks is a challenge I make to myself each year to countdown to the holidays by giving thanks every day . . thanks for one thing the first day, two the second, three the third, all the way to giving thanks for thirty things on the thirtieth day.
