If you can
Imagine
A lion without a roar
Spring without daffodils
Starbucks without Caramel Macchiatos
A girl without giggles
YOU without your dreams
Yes
YOU with no dreams
Unnatural
Incomplete
Wrong
Because your dreams are more than just pie-in-the-sky, Disney princess fluff
Your deep desires, passions, gifts, and dreams are as unique as your fingerprint
Just as inseparable
And as necessary as YOU
And YOU are necessary
For such a time as this
Of all the times in history and places in the world
God chose to put you exactly where you are today
And there are people who need YOU and the unique influence of your dream
Your dream is meant to come true
It may not look exactly like you imagined it
It may change over time
It may take longer than you thought it would to become reality
Nevertheless, your dream is an integral part of who you are
Just like your personality
And it’s meant to happen
There are a million reasons why it won’t be easy
But it’s not supposed to be
Any easier than growing up is
Because just like YOU
Dreams grow
Into all they were meant to be
One more thing
Following your dream ISN’T selfish
It’s anything but
Because your dream is your contribution
When you walk away, your dream stays
Its impact keeps impacting
Its memory keeps influencing
Like the strength of a lion’s roar
Like the beauty of yellow daffodils in spring
Like the sweet warmth of caramel and coffee
Like the joy of giggling girls
YOU and your DREAM

Drum roll . . . . and CONGRATULATIONS, to Joy Lenton for winning Holley’s new book, “You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream”!
Hi Kim, I am visiting for the first time from Holley's page. This lovely post echoes some of the thoughts God placed on my heart recently and that I wrote in my own GSD post. I particularly like these words: "Your deep desires, precious gifts, and dreams are as unique as your fingerprint..just as inseparable, and as necessary as you". So true and so encouraging. Also, the individuality of "your dream is your contribution" blends personal goals/dreams into the corporate whole which enriches us all in the sharing. Thank you for this blessing! 🙂 xx
I like the way you expressed that, Joy . . "blends personal goals/dreams into the corporate whole which enriches us all in the sharing." Yes! Thanks for visiting 🙂
I am so excited to read Holley's book, and share it with others.
Recently I had the opportunity to share my DREAM with a group of entrepreneurs, and this was part of it:
– A DREAM restores HOPE for your future.
– A DREAM lets God know YOU ARE WILLING TO TRUST HIM AGAIN:
* TO BELIEVE that ALL HE SAYS ABOUT YOU IN HIS WORD,
AND ALL THAT HE HAS CREATED YOU TO BE – AND TO DO –
IS TRUE!
To BELIEVE! Thanks for living this and believing in me, Mom. XO
Thank you for the heads up on the book, Kim. It sounds wonderful and I look forward to reading it.
I just finished reading a fascinating book, "Wide Awake – The Future is Waiting Within You" by church visionary Erwin Raphael McManus. He challenges us to put an end to all the sleepwalking and settling.
Thanks again and have a blessed day!
I will check that book out, Lisa! Thanks 🙂
Makes me want to get out there in the daffodils and squeal and roar some joy, girl! Love this – the wynsomness of it. Thank you for this encouragement, fellow dreamer!
I'm with you! Thank you, Laurie.
Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep working on my goals, fanning the flame, praying, blogging on the hard things as well as the joyful. I love reading Holley's posts as well. Blessings, Kath
