As I look back over the dreams that have manifested and the ones that didn’t, I’ve discovered a secret.

The secret is they weren’t a secret.

The dreams that came true were the ones I didn’t keep a secret. Safe, protected from the cynics, far away from danger . . .  and any semblance of reality.

Instead, the dreams that came true are the ones I shared. 

There’s something powerful, almost supernatural about speaking a dream out loud to a trusted soul.

Do you know what happens when a plow horse that can pull 8,000 pounds is harnessed with another plow horse the same size? You’d think that together they would double their horsepower and pull 16,000 pounds, but together they can actually pull 24,000 pounds. Their doubled efforts triple their potential. And if they’ve trained together, the same two plow horses can quadruple their singular potential and pull 32,000 pounds!

We are made for community, and community makes us exponentially stronger as both a whole and individuals.

When I shared my dream to host a different kind of woman’s retreat with my friends, I was shaking in my boots. All the doubts screamed. But I turned down the volume of my fears, trusted in the love of my friends, and took a leap.

And WINSOME is happening now because I’m not alone. I have joined efforts with TEN other women. I figure based on our plow horse analogy, we have multiplied our potential returns by a whole lot more than eleven women alone!

That’s really a big part of the vision for WINSOME. By coming together in authentic community, embracing our diversity, and living in truth, I believe women can exponentially increase both their joy and their influence as individuals and a community.
